ANWIANKWANTA -OBUASI ROAD CONSTRUCTION; GOVERNMENT COMMENDED

ANWIANKWANTA -OBUASI ROAD CONSTRUCTION; GOVERNMENT COMMENDED.

The Second Vice Chairman for Suame Constituency of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Richard Asante, has commended government for factoring the construction of Anwiankwanta Obuasi road in the current budget.

According to him, government needs to be praised for it’s decision to construct Suame and Oforikrom interchanges as well as tackling Komfo Anokye to Abuakwa road.

Speaking to the media, Mr Asante, was optimistic that such road projects will be carried out to the satisfaction of Ghanaians.

According to him, the Anwiankwanta -Obuasi road, which currently as he puts it, as a death trap, needs an immediate attention hence was praiseful when such road and others were declared by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta in parliament yesterday.

” l recently drove to Obuasi for a funeral and l prayed government to have a look at the deplorable nature of the road. Its too bad.” Mr Asante said.

He however described the leadership of National Democratic Congress (NDC) as liars since Former President John Dramani Mahama, speculated to Ghanaians that the NDC government constructed all major roads including Kumasi Obuasi road.

“The incompetent Mahama was blind at Kumasi – Obuasi road for eight years but competent Nana Addo is sightful. Mr Asante disclosed.

According to him, the construction of Suame and Oforikrom interchanges, should be seen as a step in the right direction, adding such projects were part of plans of Former President John Agyekum Kuffuor when he constructed Sofoline and Asokwa interchanges.

Mr Asante therefore appealed to Ghanaians to reciprocate the achievements of President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, by retaining NPP in power in the 2020 general election.
