President John Dramani Mahama has issued a firm ultimatum to all government appointees who have not yet complied with asset declaration laws, warning that they will be dismissed if they fail to meet the final deadline of May 7, 2025.

This directive is part of ongoing efforts to enforce transparency and accountability within his administration, following an earlier deadline of March 31 that many appointees failed to meet.

Speaking at the launch of the Code of Conduct for government appointees in Accra on Monday, May 5, Mahama stressed the seriousness of the situation, stating that there would be no exemptions from the consequences of non-compliance.

“If by the close of day, Wednesday, 7th May 2025, any of you still fails to declare your assets, count yourself automatically dismissed because when it comes to protecting the integrity of this government, I will not compromise,” he declared.

Additionally, Mahama announced financial penalties for defaulters, requiring those who missed the March deadline to forfeit three months’ salary, along with a one-month mandatory donation to the MahamaCares Fund
