The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have announced an extension of operational hours at two major domestic airports—Prempeh I International Airport (PIA) in Kumasi and Tamale International Airport (TIA). This change takes effect on Saturday, June 1, 2025.

New Operational Hours
According to a joint public notice from the two aviation bodies:

  • Prempeh I International Airport will now operate until 11:00 p.m., with extended hours from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Tamale International Airport will extend its hours from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The GCAA has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to inform all airlines of these changes. Domestic airlines are encouraged to increase the frequency of their operations to and from both airports.

Travel Advisory
The general public is advised to take note of the revised operational hours and make necessary adjustments when planning travel.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance air travel convenience and connectivity across Ghana, particularly in the northern and Ashanti regions.
