Former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong has declared his intention to run for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position once again, asserting that no one can prevent him from contesting.
His announcement follows his withdrawal from the NPP’s “Thank You Tour” due to security threats faced by his supporters.
The situation escalated during a party event in Bantama, Kumasi, where a student from KNUST, part of a performance group hired by Agyapong’s team, was stabbed. The incident, which occurred at the Pentecost Church, has raised serious safety concerns within the party.
Addressing the media, Agyapong emphasized that while the attack highlights the risks his team faces, it will not deter his plans. “We will reorganize and continue. I am telling everyone that I will contest. Nobody can stop me,” he stated.
