On May 7, 2025, Hon. Mas’ud Ayarba Thomas C.A. was officially sworn in as the Municipal Chief Executive for Atebubu-Amantin during a ceremony held at the Bono East Regional Council. The event was attended by various dignitaries, community leaders, and residents, all eager to witness the beginning of a new chapter in the municipality’s governance.

Vision for the Municipality

In his inaugural speech following the swearing-in ceremony, Hon. This will include collaborations with relevant governmental bodies and NGOs to develop sustainable solutions, such as boreholes and improved water treatment facilities, ensuring that every household has access to clean drinking water. “No one should have to worry about the safety of their drinking water,” he emphasized, committing to a thorough assessment of existing water sources and infrastructure. He also plans to engage the community in monitoring water quality, creating a sense of ownership and accountability among residents.

Insecurity

Insecurity has become a growing concern in Atebubu-Amantin, with reports of increasing crime rates and disturbances affecting the peace of the community. Hon. Mas’ud pledged to address these issues head-on by enhancing local security measures. He proposed establishing community policing initiatives that encourage collaboration between law enforcement agencies and residents. By fostering trust and communication, he believes the municipality can create a safer environment for everyone. “We need to work together to ensure our neighborhoods are safe,” he remarked, stressing the importance of community involvement in security efforts. Additionally, he aims to work closely with the regional minister to increase visibility and presence in crime-prone areas, deploying resources strategically to deter criminal activities.

Education

Hon. Mas’ud placed significant emphasis on education as a cornerstone of development. He expressed his determination to improve educational facilities and resources in the municipality, recognizing that a well-educated populace is essential for sustainable growth.
