King Promise emerged as the standout winner at the 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held on Saturday, May 10, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
The Afrobeats star claimed the prestigious Artiste of the Year title, defeating notable competitors such as Stonebwoy and King Paluta. This marks King Promise’s first time receiving the top honor at the annual awards show.
In addition to the Artiste of the Year accolade, he also secured three more awards:
- Best Afropop Song of the Year
- Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year
- Best Album/EP of the Year
Gospel legend Yaw Sarpong was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades-long contribution to gospel music in Ghana.
The night was filled with vibrant performances from both emerging and established artists, including Ayisi, Yaw Darling, Empress Gifty, King Paluta, Stonebwoy, and King Promise himself. A special tribute performance by Adina, Adomaa, and Titi Owusu celebrated the legendary Osibisa band and its late founder, Teddy Osei.
