Member of Parliament for Madina, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has come to the defense of Sammy Gyamfi following public backlash over a viral video in which Gyamfi is seen giving U.S. dollars to Nana Agradaa. Sosu stated that Gyamfi committed no crime.

The Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board, Gyamfi, was filmed handing cash to Agradaa, a former fetish priestess turned evangelist. The footage has drawn significant criticism online, with many questioning the appropriateness of his actions in light of Ghana’s current economic struggles.

In response to the backlash, Gyamfi issued an apology and has been summoned by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah for further explanation.

On May 12, MP Francis-Xavier Sosu took to Facebook to express his support, stating: “You committed no crime. The haters are hurt. Let them do their worst. God has your back.”

Public opinion on the incident remains divided. While some view the gesture as inappropriate for a public official, others, including Mr. Sosu, believe Gyamfi did nothing wrong.
