The Burkina Faso community in Ghana has expressed unwavering support for President Ibrahim Traoré, demonstrating solidarity with his leadership and efforts to assert Burkina Faso’s sovereignty. This declaration was made during a formal presentation of a petition to Burkina Faso’s Ambassador to Ghana, David Kabre, at the embassy in Accra.

Speaking on behalf of the diaspora group, President Romauld Sawadogo emphasized their commitment to President Traoré’s vision for a self-reliant Africa. He described Traoré as a leader dedicated to the well-being of his people and a symbol of hope for a continent historically influenced by foreign powers.

“We stand firmly with President Traoré in his struggle for Burkina Faso’s sovereignty and the broader liberation of Africa,” Sawadogo stated. “The time has come for Africans to unite and reclaim what rightfully belongs to them. President Traoré has shown courage and integrity, and he needs our collective support to succeed.”

He urged leaders across the continent to rally behind Traoré, asserting that only through unity can Africa overcome decades of dependency and external control.

In response, Ambassador David Kabre praised the diaspora’s gesture, describing President Traoré as an inspiration to Africa’s youth. He warned of ongoing attempts by Western powers to destabilize the Burkinabè leadership and urged African nations to resist such interference.

“President Traoré represents the voice of a new Africa, an Africa determined to chart its own path,” Kabre said. “Attempts to remove him are not just an attack on Burkina Faso, but an attack on African sovereignty. We must not allow this.”

The event highlighted the growing pan-African sentiment among diasporic communities and underscored the political momentum President Traoré continues to build beyond Burkina Faso’s borders.
