A section of the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) Achimota Bulk Supply Point Station ‘H’ was gutted by fire on Sunday, May 3. According to sources from Citi News, the blaze ignited around 11:00 a.m. following an explosion heard by individuals on the premises.

The fire caused significant damage to the Earthen Transformer “2” at the supply point, along with several other components. Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service responded promptly and successfully extinguished the flames.

This incident is expected to impact electricity supply to areas served by the affected bulk supply point, including Adenta, Madina, Legon, 37, Kanda, and parts of Achimota.
