President John Dramani Mahama has affirmed his dedication to enforcing stringent sanctions against appointees who violate the newly released Code of Conduct for public officials. This initiative, unveiled on May 6, aims to foster professionalism, civility, and ethical governance within public service.

In a national address on May 7, President Mahama emphasized that any breaches by his appointees would result in decisive disciplinary measures. “I have left my appointees in no doubt that I will bring down the hammer swiftly and strongly if they breach any of these provisions,” he declared.

The Code of Conduct includes specific ethical guidelines, such as prohibiting the use of public funds for purchasing festive hampers and restricting gifts to amounts exceeding GHC20,000.00. This framework is designed to prevent waste, promote integrity, and enhance public trust in government.
