The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has dispatched a team to engage stakeholders in various districts in preparation for the confirmation of President John Dramani Mahama’s nominees for Municipal and District Chief Executives.

The team is tasked with holding discussions with stakeholders, including Assembly Members, to facilitate a smooth confirmation process for the President’s nominees.

As of now, the Asante Mampong Municipal and Atwima Mponua District Assemblies have yet to announce their nominees, following the release of the list for 41 other areas, including the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.

During a recent meeting with the appointees, the Minister advised them to refrain from celebrations and instead focus on building relationships with any aggrieved individuals to ensure their confirmation.

Dr. Amoakohene also reached out to candidates who were not selected, encouraging them to remain patient and committed to the party’s mission.

Some discontent has emerged among National Democratic Congress members in specific constituencies following the nominees’ announcement.

The Minister urged party members to support the nominees and reassured them that no one would be excluded. “All the meetings we are having involve aggrieved candidates from the party, as participation is limited to party members. We have encouraged them that if they wish to serve the government or support the president, there are other ways to contribute,” he stated.
