A tragic road accident at Adansi Dompoase, near the new Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) office, has resulted in the deaths of six individuals, as confirmed by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
In a statement from the Ashanti Region Public Relations Office, the GNFS reported that they received a distress call at 12:43 PM and promptly dispatched a rescue team to the scene.
The rescue operation, led by ADOII Samuel Mensah, discovered a VIP bus (registration GW 8455-23) and a Benz Sprinter (registration GS 6383-20) involved in the collision. The GNFS noted that the Sprinter was severely mangled from the rear, while the VIP bus sustained partial damage to its front.
By 1:28 PM, rescue operations were completed, with six deceased victims handed over to the police. Additionally, one injured individual was transported to the Fomena Government Hospital for emergency treatment.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, according to the GNFS.
